a. Reference Standard:
1. Japan Road Association, Painting Manual for Steel Highway Bridges (2014 Edition)
2. ISO 8502-5 Measurement of Chloride on Steel Surface prepared for painting ( Ion Detection Tube Method)
b. Scope of Application
This is to conduct a field test for Chloride Ions present in during the transportation in the sea of the steel structures.
c. Apparatus and Materials
- Chloride ion detection tube ( 201SA, 201SB, 201SC)
- Deionized Water (Purified Water ) 150 ml
- Cotton Gauze 330x30 cm
- Rubber Gloves
- Masking Tape 20mm thickness
- Measurement Tape
- Poly beakers 100ml, 250ml capacity
d. Procedure
Test area is approximately 50x50cm approximate the shape depending on the size and shape then apply masking tape.
